In the midst of a transforming inner city, where retail is steadily receding, the House of Music establishes itself as a new kind of public resonance space for Braunschweig. The iconic building by Elisabeth and Gottfried Böhm has not been replaced, but carefully reimagined, a continuation that honours the original while translating it into a contemporary architectural language. The structure remains legible, yet is subtly remixed, reshaped, and enriched through new materials, spatial strategies, and construction techniques.
