Okstad hage

Four new apartment buildings rise on a north-facing slope at the edge of Trondheim. Rational in structure yet fluid in expression, their facades weave between tall trees and five ridges in the terrain, creating slender vertical volumes nestled in the forest.

Each apartment balances compact plans with long diagonals and layered views—towards Trondheimsfjorden, into the greenery, and to the sun. The design echoes 1950s–60s Milanese architecture, particularly Mangiarotti and Morassutti’s Via Quadronno, reinterpreted in a Norwegian woodland setting.
